​Why should I choose Sutherland Training to do my course?

Sutherland Training is an industry leader in accredited administration training, specialising in general and medical administration. We have been a Registered Training Organisation since 2011 and our resources are high‑quality, practical and aligned to real workplace expectations. Our bespoke Performance Tasks simulate real‑life scenarios, and all assessors are qualified experts in office or medical administration. We also provide a free suite of career resources to support your future employment.

Will my certificate be nationally recognised?
Yes. Sutherland Training is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO #31956) and all qualifications we issue are nationally recognised.

How long do I get to complete my course?
Once your enrolment is finalised and your first unit is available on the portal, you have a set number of months to complete depending on your course.  You may finish earlier — your study is self‑paced.

Can I finish my course in a shorter time?
Yes, if you have time to dedicate to your learning, you can finish earlier.

Can I start any time or do you have intake dates etc?
You can start anytime. Our courses are fully self‑paced and self‑managed. Some students enrol and begin immediately; others choose to start a few weeks later. You decide what works best for you.

How much support do I get?
You will be very well supported at Sutherland Training. You can message your assessor directly through the portal, and each unit includes videos and Tip Sheets that explain exactly what we’re looking for. If you need extra help, we can organise a Zoom call. We respond quickly, and our student testimonials consistently highlight how supported learners feel.

Are there government subsidies for my course?
We are Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) under the Skills Assure Program (Department of Trade, Employment and Training, Queensland, QLD). for Queenslanders. To check your eligibility, click here:  Click here to complete our subsidies check form

Do I need to do work placement?
No. Our bespoke Performance Tasks replicate real workplace scenarios, allowing you to demonstrate your skills without needing a work placement. These tasks prepare you for real‑world administration roles.

What entry requirements are there for this course?
You will need:
  • basic computer skills
  • adequate Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills. 
  • You will also need access to a computer with Microsoft Office or other suites such as Google
  • reliable Internet. 
Most importantly, you will also need to have a willingness to learn and be self motivated.  

Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, we offer payment plans for all fees with an option of splitting your fee over two or three months.

What weekly commitment would be required to complete this course in 12 months?
The following is an example for a Certificate III full qualification.
There are 13 units of competency, and 12 months allows plenty of time to complete them. If you use the full 12 months, you would submit approximately one unit every 28 days. Units vary in time — some may take 5 hours, others up to 40, depending on your skill level. As a guide, expect to spend 5–7 hours per week to finish within 12 months. You can complete it sooner if you prefer.

How is the course delivered? 
The course is delivered 100% online. All learning materials are available on our portal, including readings, quizzes and assessments. There are no scheduled classes or pre‑recorded lectures — you study at your own pace. Once you complete the Learning Resource, you begin your assessments. Support is always available, and you can book a Portal Familiarisation Tour after enrolment.
