Who is this course for?
This course is perfect for those wishing to move into the Office Administration field and gain excellent computer and soft skills for this industry.  

Most people who undertake this course are one of the following:

Is this a nationally recognised qualification?
Sutherland Training is a Registered Training Organisation RTO # 31956.  This qualification leads to the issuance of AQF [Australian Qualifications Framework] certification documentation which is nationally recognised.

Where are the classes held?
Classes are held in our fully-equipped air-conditioned training rooms on Evans Street in Maroochydore, QLD, Sunshine Coast.

How often do I come to class and what are the times?
This course requires you to attend 7 class sessions and upon enrolment, you will be provided with a timetable of actual dates.  Class times are 8:45am to 2:30pm and we recommend arriving at class at 8:15am
 
How much time do I have to dedicate to my study during the week?
This is a hard question as the time you need to spend on completing your assessment is based on your current skills level.  We ask that you plan your study time in your week so that you don’t get behind.  Completing your weekly assessment can take from 5 to 25 hours depending on how well you grasped the content.  What you cover in class is what is covered in your Assessment.

Is this a part-time or full-time course?
This is a full-time course.

Am I supported?
Yes!  We support you throughout your learning experience and your trainer/assessor is available within working hours to support you if you do not understand.  We pride ourselves on the level of support we offer, and we have many happy learners who can testify to that.

All our trainers and assessors are qualified with the most current TAE qualifications and are industry-experienced professionals who have worked in business and office administration environments.   ​ 

Do I have to bring my own computer?
No, you do not have to bring you own computer – our training rooms are fully equipped with the latest technology.

Do I need to have a computer at home to do this course?
Yes, you will be required to have a computer with Microsoft Office and a printer in order to complete your assessments.

Is there government funding for this course?
Subsidies are available for eligible candidates under the Certificate 3 Guarantee program.  To be eligible you must:
1. Not hold or be currently undertaking a certificate III or higher-level qualification.
2. Be 15 years of age or older
3. Have finished secondary school or left school
4. Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident residing in Queensland, or New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Queensland.
Subsidies are also available under other funding arrangements - please enquire if you don't meet the eligibility criteria above.

Can Sutherland Training find me work?
Sutherland Training works with employers and from time to time, when asked, we recommend our past learners if organisations have a job vacancy.  We don’t guarantee finding you work but we have placed many people into jobs when employers approach us.  We have a Work Experience programme at Sutherland Training if you wish to gain experience in administration.

What are the entry requirements?
In order to undertake this course you will need basic computer skills, access to a computer and printer and adequate literacy and numeracy skills.
