This course is perfect for those wishing to move into the Medical Receptionist field and gain excellent computer and medical administration skills for this industry.

-  those who have completed our BSB30415 - Cert III in Business Admin, and are undertaking the 5 medical units to  gain a second qualification.

Successful completion of this course requires the fulfillment of 13 units of competency: 2 core units and 11 elective units.   Units include:

Upon graduation with this qualification, you can work in the following job roles:

- Clerk in a medical environment
- Personal assistant in a medical environment

- Medical Records Clerk at a Hospital
- Medical Secretary in Specialist Rooms
- Medical Receptionist at an allied health facility ie. physio, dietician etc


Is this a nationally recognised qualification?
Sutherland Training is a Registered Training Organisation RTO # 31956.  This qualification leads to the issuance of AQF [Australian Qualifications Framework] certification documentation which is nationally recognised.

How much time do  I have to complete this qualification?
From your date of your entry onto the portal, you have 12 months to complete your qualification.  You can finish in your own time as long as it is completed in 12 months.

Is this a part-time or full-time course?
This is a part-time course.

How much time do I have to dedicate to my study during the week?
This is a hard question as the time you need to spend on completing your assessment is based on your current skills level.  We ask that you plan your study time in your week so that you don’t get behind.  If you dedicate at least 5-10 hours per week, you will definitely finish before your deadline. 

How do I receive my course materials?
All course materials, including assessments, are delivered online.  No paper books are issued for this course. At the start of your course you will be sent login details for the student portal and the name and contact details of your assessors.  
 

Am I supported?
Yes!  We support you throughout your learning experience and your assessors are available to support you if you do not understand.  We pride ourselves on the level of support we offer, and we have many happy learners who can testify to that.

All our trainers and assessors are qualified with the most current TAE qualifications and are industry-experienced professionals who have worked in business, office and/or medical administration environments.   ​Our medical assessors have extensive experience as practice managers and other medical administration environments.

Do I have to sit exams?
No, you do not have to sit exams.  We assess you on the assessment submitted via the portal and other informal methods.

Do I need to have a computer at home to do this course?
Yes, you will be required to have a computer with Microsoft Office and access to the internet in order to undertake this course.

Is there government funding for this course?
Subsidies are available for eligible candidates under the Certificate 3 Guarantee program.  To be eligible you must:
1. Not hold or be currently undertaking a certificate III or higher-level qualification.
2. Be 15 years of age or older
3. Have finished secondary school or left school
4. Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident residing in Queensland, or New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Queensland.
Subsidies are also available under other funding arrangements - please enquire if you don't meet the eligibility criteria above.


What are the fees?
Once we have determined if you are eligible or not the following fees apply:

1. Eligible under Certificate 3 Guarantee and holding a concession card - $250.00.
2. Eligible under Certificate 3 Guarantee and not holding a concession card - $360.00.
3. Not eligible under Certificate 3 Guarantee  - $2,195.00 - payment plans are available.

What are the entry requirements?
In order to undertake this course you will need basic computer skills, access to a computer and printer and adequate literacy and numeracy skills.

Second qualification 
After successful completion of this qualification, you will automatically gain eight (8) credit transfers towards our BSB30415 - Certificate III in Business Administration qualification.  Five other administration units will need to be completed to attain this full qualification.  The cost to do this is $800.00.
